Mac Slideshow: Quickly preview images
Open Finder and navigate to the desired folder on your Mac. Select any image with the mouse and press the spacebar to preview the image.

If you switch to the so-called “Cover Flow Mode” at the top of the Finder, you will receive a small slide show directly in the Finder. Use the up and down arrow keys to navigate the folder to control the slideshow.
Mac OS: How to start the slideshow
You can start a real slideshow by opening all the pictures at once. To do this, hold down the [Shift] key to mark several images at once. Mark all pictures with the key combination [cmd] + [A]. Once all the pictures have been marked, open them with the space bar. Switch to full screen mode at the top left and control the slide show with the arrow keys.
