MacOS X: Change screen resolution
It is normally not necessary to change the screen resolution on the Mac (iMac, iBook), since the setting is optimally matched to the integrated display by default. Read here how to set the screen resolution manually:
Change the screen resolution on Mac OS X.
- Open "System Settings" -> "Hardware" -> "Monitors".
- Click on the radio button "Scaled" and select the desired resolution with a simple click (see screenshot).
- If you agree with the set resolution, close the window. Otherwise, just try a different setting.
- To switch back to the automatic configuration, click on the "Optimal for built-in display" button.
This practical tip shows you how to use your Mac with two screens.
