- In the Control Panel, click "Hardware and Sound".
- Under "Devices and Printers" select the entry "Mouse".
- In the "Mouse Properties" window, click on the "Pointer Options" tab.
- In the "Visibility" area, check "Show mouse track".
- Finally, confirm the change with "Apply" and "OK".
The effect looks even nicer if you use a black mouse pointer under Windows 8.1.
