Metal Gear Online: Overview of classes and game modes
With Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, you can choose from three classes and three game modes in Metal Gear Online. This practical tip gives you an overview.
Metal Gear Online: Classes at a glance
At Metal Gear Online you can choose between three slots for three different characters. Note that the character is bound to the selected class. Once selected, you can no longer change the class. To try another class, you must first create a new character as the game progresses.
- Scout: This class offers normal combat skills and is suitable for beginners. The scout class marks enemies with binoculars, making them visible to all other team members.
- Fighter: As an advanced player you are right in this class. You use weapons with higher penetration, but you are slower in speed and reflexes.
- Intruder: As a professional, you should use this class. They have a high pace and are a specialist in close combat (CQC), but they cannot endure much.
Metal Gear Online: Game modes at a glance
Using the "Assignment" menu of your iDroid you can either search for games automatically, choose a game or create a game yourself. You can select the cards and create up to five as a list to play them alternately. You can choose between three game modes:
- Bounty Hunter: This game mode is a classic team deathmatch mode. The winner is who first brings the number of spawn tickets of the opposing team to 0. With kills you increase your bounty, with extractions with the Fulton rescue device you reduce it.
- Cloak and Dagger: There are no respawns in this mode. You should act wisely. The attackers should secure a data disc and bring it back to the pick-up point. The defenders are obviously trying to prevent this. The attacking group is equipped with non-lethal weapons, while the defenders have lethal weapons.
- Comm Control: In this game mode, the attackers are supposed to conquer the comm stations of the defenders in order to download important data. Downloading is accelerated with every comm station conquered. Once all the data is downloaded, that means victory. The captured comm stations can also be used as spawn points.
