Set up a network with Mac OS X - Here's how
In this practical tip, we explain how to set up networks under Mac OS X.
Join the network on Mac OS X.
- Click on the network symbol in the bar at the top right. You may have to activate WLAN first, then click "Activate WLAN"
- You will be shown all the networks in your area.
- Click on your network.
- You will be asked to enter the network password. Check "Remember this network" if you do not want to enter the password every time.
- Click on "Connect".
Network is not shown
- If your network is not shown in the list (for example, because your network SSID is set to invisible), then click on "Connect to another network" in the opened menu.
- At this point, enter the network name and the security type of the network. If you do not know this information, log into the configuration menu of your router. Read how to configure your router.
- Then click on "Connect".
- Enter your network password and confirm.
Set up your own home network with Mac OS X.
