Oculus Rift: system requirements for PC
Your PC must meet certain system requirements in order to use the Oculus Rift virtual reality glasses. We will tell you whether your PC can withstand the requirements or whether you should update your hardware before buying.
System requirements for the Oculus Rift
The virtual reality glasses demand a lot from your computer. Your PC should at least meet these system requirements:
- Graphics card: Your PC requires at least an NVIDIA GTX 960 or an AMD 290. We recommend an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or an AMD Radeon RX 480.
- USB: For the VR glasses you also need a USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports. A total of 3x USB 3.0 and 1x USB 2.0 are recommended for the use of additional cameras.
- HDMI: An HDMI 1.3 port is used as video output.
- Processor: An Intel i3-6100 or an AMD FX4350 are the minimum. For optimal performance, it should be an Intel i5-4590 or equivalent CPU.
- RAM: For the Oculus Rift to work properly, at least 8 GB must be installed in your PC.
- Operating system: The glasses support all operating systems from Windows 7 with SP1.
