Back up Outlook contacts - how it works
This practical tip shows you how you can export your contacts in Outlook and thereby back them up.
How to export your contacts to Outlook:
- Open Outlook.
- Click "File" at the top left of the ribbon, and then click "Options".
- In the options window, click "Advanced" on the left.
- Below the "Export" menu item, click the "Export" button.
- Now you can define the format in which your Outlook contacts should be saved. "PST" and "VCS" are the most common formats. You can also save your contacts in a separate file. Simply select "Export to file".
- Click on "Next", select the storage location on your PC and confirm with "OK".
- Now you have saved your Outlook contacts and can transfer them to your smartphone or another PC, for example.
