Enter the down arrow symbol - how it works
The down arrow is one of the symbols you need every now and then. However, you won't find it at first glance. You can read how to insert it in this tip:
Enter the down arrow using the old code
If you have a keyboard with a numeric keypad, you can easily enter the arrow using the Alt code. To do this, hold down the [Alt] key and type "25" on the numeric keypad. When you release the Alt key, the down arrow appears where you placed the cursor. This method works everywhere, not just in Microsoft Office.
Insert the downward arrow without a numeric keypad
For example, if you write on a laptop where you don't have a number pad, the old code will not work. With one trick it works anyway: Type "2193" where you want the arrow. Select the number and press the key combination [Alt] + [C]. This converts a code into the corresponding Unicode character. But this only works in Office. Elsewhere you have to search for and copy the arrow in the character table.
Tip: The codes for the other arrows are: Alt + 24 or 2191 (top), Alt + 26 or 2192 (right) and Alt + 27 or 2190 (left).
