Control Philips Hue with Siri - how it works
If you want to control your Philips Hue lamps with Siri, you have to set up the system beforehand. We'll show you how to do it step by step.
Preparation: Control Philips Hue with Siri
In order for Siri and Philips Hue to work together, your Hue lamps need Bridge 2.0. The new version of the Bridge has been part of the Hue products since 2015.
- First, open the "Settings" app on your iPhone, iPod or iPod touch.
- Select your user at the top and activate the "Home" item. Tip: If other Apple users should also have access to your lamps, set the "Keychain" item to "On".
- Now open the Philips Hue app on your iPhone and tap the gear in the top left.
- Under "Homekit & Siri" you can set up the function and link the two systems together.
- In this process, you will need to enter or scan the code located on the back of the Hue Bridge.
- In the next step you can select all Hue lamps that you want to control via Siri.
- If you wish, you can now invite additional people via Apple ID to also control your lamps via Siri.
Instructions: Control Philips Hue lamps with Siri
- Siri understands simple commands right from the start. These include, for example, "Siri, turn off the light in the hallway" and "Siri, make the light in the bedroom darker".
- You can also be shorter. Commands such as "Brightness of living room to 50 percent" also work.
- You must train all other commands. In the app you can create the so-called scenes and share them with Siri.
- Tip: If the voice control does not work with Siri, simply restart the Hue app.
