PlayStation 4: Connect the dual shock controller to the PC
Since PlayStation 4, you can also connect your DualShock controllers to the PC. This works either via USB and Bluetooth. We'll show you both ways.
Use the PlayStation 4 Dualshock Controller on the PC
What was not possible with the old PlayStation controllers is now no problem with the PS4: the dual-shock controllers can also be used for gaming on a PC. You can do this in different ways.
- USB: Connect the controller to your computer using the supplied USB cable. The PC should configure the controller automatically. You do not have to make any further settings.
- Bluetooth: For wireless gaming, your computer must have a Bluetooth adapter. If this is the case, open the path "Control Panel"> "Hardware and Sound"> "Devices and Printers" and select the option "Add device". Press the Share button and the PlayStation button on the controller at the same time so that a white light is visible. The two devices can now recognize and connect.
- Windows 10 & Bluetooth: Open the "Settings" in the Start menu via the gear icon. You can search for and add the controller in the "Devices" and "Bluetooth and other devices" categories. To do this, press and hold the PlayStation button on the controller for a few seconds. If a code is requested, type 0000.
- If there are problems with the key assignment, download the latest updates for Windows. With the free tool DS4Windows you can also adjust the button assignment of the controller.
You can also use your PS3 controller on the PC. However, the setup is somewhat more complex than with the PS4 controller.
