Connect PS3 and Xbox 360 controller to Mac
The controllers of the PS3 or Xbox 360 can also be effortlessly connected to a Mac. You can also play many games on Mac with your favorite gamepad. We show you how it works.
Connect PS3 controller to Mac
- Connect your PS3 controller to the Mac with a USB cable.
- Press the PS button.
- Under "System Settings" -> "Bluetooth" you will find the Bluetooth device found.
- You can now disconnect the cable and press the PS button again.
- The PS3 controller is displayed as "Playstation (R) 3 Controller" and "Connected" in the list of Bluetooth devices.
Connect Xbox 360 controller to Mac
Connecting the Xbox360 controller is a bit more complicated:
- For the Xbox 360 controller it is necessary to install an unofficial driver software, which you can download here.
- Under "Downloads" you will find the "Driver" there.
- Follow the installation process and restart your Mac.
- After the restart, there should be a new selection under System Settings, namely "Xbox 360 controller". Click on it.
- The connected device is found in the open menu. The battery consumption of the controller is also shown, and the controller buttons can also be tested for function.
