Reset Samsung Galaxy S6 - how it works
If you want to sell your Samsung Galaxy S6 again, you should definitely reset it beforehand. The factory settings can be restored in a flash with a reset and you have protected your personal data from strangers.
Reset the Galaxy S6 using the recovery method
If you don't want to sell your Galaxy S6, but just lost your password, in this case you have no choice but to do a hard reset.
- In the case of a forgotten password, you have to carry out the reset via the boot process. After you have switched off the smartphone, simultaneously press the "volume up button", the power button and the "home button". When the Samsung logo appears on the display, release the buttons.
- In the displayed menu, navigate to the entry "wipe data / factory reset" using the "Quiet button" and press the power button.
- Finally, confirm your decision again by selecting "YES - delete all user data" and then pressing the power button again.
Soft reset: Reset Galaxy S6 via the menu
If you reset the smartphone to the factory settings via the menu, you can of course back up your data beforehand.
- First go to "Settings" on your Samsung Galaxy S6.
- Then decide on "Save and reset".
- Then go to "Reset factory settings".
- You can reset the Galaxy S6 by pressing "Reset device" and confirming that you agree to the deletion of your data.
