Remove Security Shield - Here's how
In this practical tip, you will learn how to remove the "Security Shield" scareware and how to protect yourself from harmful software.
Remove malware with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
If you can still access the Internet, download "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware" and install the program. Rename the name of the file, otherwise Security Shield will prevent you from installing the software.
- If the download does not work, download the program on another computer. Then try to install "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware" from a USB stick.
- Run a full system scan. Disconnect your computer from the Internet during the scan. Do not connect the PC to the Internet again afterwards.
Remove all files from "Security Shield"
Since "Security Shield" is well hidden under Windows and can therefore regenerate, you must track down the malware and remove it completely.
- Download the "AntiVir Rescue System" with another computer and save the program on a USB stick or CD.
- Insert the CD or insert the USB stick into the infected computer. Restart the PC and go to the boot menu. Let the computer start from the CD / USB stick.
- Follow the instructions of "AntiVir Rescue System".
- Alternatively, you can also use the "AVG Rescue CD".
