Sky error 478 - what to do?
- This error indicates that the smart card or the receiver do not match your contract.
- You will often receive the error even if your connection and smart card have not yet been fully activated.
- So take a look at your Sky contract documents. Your Sky subscription may not have been activated yet - then waiting only helps.
- However, if the activation date is in the past, you must contact Sky customer service.
- Your receiver may also have been entered incorrectly in the system. Customer service can also solve this problem retrospectively.
- In rare cases, the receiver must also be replaced. Customer service will tell you directly whether this applies to you.
