Spotify: Show lyrics - it's that easy
With a few tricks, you can also display the lyrics to the music on Spotify. This practical tip shows you how this works on both mobile devices and computers.
Show lyrics on Spotify
Spotify has its own function so that you can view the lyrics and the story behind the song.
- Start "Spotify" and play a song.
- Touch "Current Title" at the bottom of the app.
- Then the lyrics and some background information about the music are displayed. If no lyrics are displayed, no lyrics have been added yet.
View song lyrics for music from Spotify on your smartphone and tablet
To view the lyrics on your mobile device, use the "SoundHound" app, which can be downloaded free of charge from the app stores.
- Start "SoundHound" on your smartphone. The app is available for Android, iOS and Windows Phone.
- To be able to merge the two services, you still need an account with SoundHound. To do this, click on the menu bar in the top right of the app and there on "Login".
- After you have created an account, go back to the menu in the top left and select the gear icon in the bottom left.
- Below is the point "Connect to Spotify".
- As soon as you check the box, the "Connect service" option appears. If you are already logged in to Spotify, the process is automatic.
- Now you can search for any track on SoundHound, play it and have the corresponding lyrics output.
View the lyrics of the song on Spotify on the computer
There are also programs for the PC to display the lyrics directly.
- The "Spotify Lyrics for PC" tool, for example, is well suited and can be downloaded free of charge.
- After unpacking the directory, start Spotify first and then Spotify Lyrics.
- All songs that you are now playing on Spotify are automatically recognized by Spotify Lyrics and the corresponding lyrics are shown.
- Tip: You can use the "Change Lyrics" button to retrieve the lyrics from another source.
