Forgot Steam username - what to do?
If you forget your Steam username, you will usually no longer be able to access your user account. We'll show you how to get your Steam username back.
Steam: Forgot username - you can do that
- Start the Steam client. In addition to entering your user data by default, you will find three other options in the lower area of the client.
- In addition to the bottom description "Forgot login info?" click the "Get old account ..." button.
- First choose the option "I don't know my account name." and confirm your selection with "Next".
- Now either look for the option "I remember my contact email address." or "I know the product key used." and confirm again with "Next".
- If you opt for the first option, you will have to provide your email address in a further step, which you also specified when registering. The second option requires you to use the CD code that you may have used to sign in to Steam.
- In both cases, you will receive an email from Steam to the email address you provided when registering. The email contains your user name, among other things, with which you can access your user account again.
In order to access your Steam user account, you need your password as well as your user name. If you have also forgotten this, another practical tip will tell you how to reset your Steam password.
