Steam: Update queued - so you start the download immediately
If an update is only included in Steam, the download does not start automatically. However, you can change the queue manually at any time and thus start the scheduled game update manually.
Steam: Start queued updates directly
If there are many updates for your games on Steam, the client will not download all patches at once. Rather, usually only a few updates start immediately; the rest are queued and started at a later time. The reason for this update policy from Steam is not known, but you can still start each scheduled update manually.
- Start Steam and click on "Downloads" under "Library".
- The list now shows all active, already completed and all queued updates.
- Click on the symbol with the upward arrow (see screenshot) next to a scheduled update to start the download.
- Steam will immediately begin downloading this update and queue all other patches.
- Note: If you don't want to install a scheduled update at all, click the button with the white "X" to cancel the update.
