SwiftKey: The best tips for the Android keyboard
The free Android keyboard "SwiftKey" is far ahead of the standard keyboard. We have summarized the best tips for the free app for you here.
Tip 1: Use several languages at the same time
In "SwiftKey" you can use several languages at the same time without having to switch between English words or sentences.
- In the settings you can add as many languages as you like. To do this, tap and hold the "123" button on the SwiftKey keyboard and select "Settings".
- Under "Languages", then tap the desired languages to download them. Then activate the individual entries using the checkboxes.
- But be careful: If there are too many languages, SwiftKey may recognize too many words.
Tip 2: Change the function of the spacebar
With the spacebar you can do several things in SwiftKey:
- Mainly you use it to create a blank space. You can also accept the current proposal or accept an entire proposed expression with a tap of the finger.
- You can specify which of the 3 options you want to use in the settings under "Advanced".
Tip 3: Use the SwiftKey cloud
Synchronize your settings with the SwiftKey cloud, automatically transfer all entries of your dictionary into the online storage. For example, you only have to enter new words on one of your devices; on all others, they are then automatically made available.
- To do this, tap on "SwiftKey Cloud" in the settings and log in with your Google account.
- Repeat this step on all of your devices to synchronize the data.
Tip 4: Use the "Flow" function
As a user of newer Android smartphones you may already know the "Flow" function:
- With it you can write a word or even whole sentences without putting your finger down.
- The app recognizes which signs you probably meant by the changes in direction via the letters and searches for suitable matches in the dictionary. With the function you can write amazingly quickly after a familiarization phase.
- To do this, activate the function in the settings under "Input methods" and "Flow".
