Thunderbird: Block senders - how it works
If you receive spam messages from a specific sender, you can block the email address in Thunderbird. We show you how to do this.
Block sender addresses in Thunderbird
- Open an email in Thunderbird whose senders you want to block.
- Then right-click on the sender address and select the entry "Create filter from ...".
- In the new window, give the filter a name and choose the "Delete the message" command in the "Actions to be performed" section.
- If you click "Ok", all messages from the sender will be automatically deleted.
- Tip: If you want to block several e-mail addresses, open the filter settings via "Tools"> "Filters" and add additional senders using the plus symbol.
If you want to clean up your inbox even further, you can hide the messages you have read in Thunderbird. This article is based on Thunderbird 31.5.0.
