Thunderbird: "Appointments and tasks" disappeared - that helps
With Mozilla Lightning, you can make Thunderbird a powerful schedule. But be careful, the "Appointments and tasks" button disappears quickly. We'll help you find it.
How to find your appointments and tasks in Thunderbird
To activate the button and a calendar in general in Thunderbird, you first need Mozilla Lightning, a popular Thunderbird extension. In new versions, this has been activated from the start.
- If the button was already visible, the add-on was also installed and activated. If the "Appointments and Tasks" button has disappeared, the add-on has probably been deactivated or uninstalled.
- Check this by clicking the "Tools" button in the menu and selecting "Add-Ons" here. If necessary, you must first show the menu by pressing the [Alt] key. Check the Add-ons menu to see if Lightning is installed and activated.
- If the add-on is installed but deactivated, simply click on "Activate" in the field of the add-on and restart Thunderbird.
- If Lightning is not installed and you don't see it in your installed add-ons, enter "Lightning" in the search window at the top right.
- The first add-on suggested to you should be the current version of Lightning. Click on "Install", wait a moment and then restart Thunderbird.
- The button and the page column for "Appointments and tasks" is now available again.
