Mixing the wall paint: tips & tricks
Mixing an individual wall color yourself is not rocket science. We show you how to do it and what you should pay attention to.
Mix wall paint: You need it
First, you should calculate how much color you need. Include a second coat of paint because the surface will still show through after the first coat of paint.
- In addition, we advise you to mix about 10 percent more color. If you run out of color, it will be difficult to mix the same shade again.
- Write down the exact mixing ratio if color is missing later.
- Alternatively: To determine the correct shade, you can use a color fan. You can get one at any major hardware store or online. The exact mixing ratio of the colors is also given here.
- Use a sufficiently large container for mixing. For larger quantities, we recommend a concrete bucket.
- To mix the paint evenly, the best thing to do is use a drill with a mixing attachment. Alternatively, you can use a simple wooden stir stick.
