If you use Windows 8 with a touchpad instead of a mouse, you can use numerous gestures for faster navigation. We show you the most important gestures in this overview.
Windows 8 with touchpad: 7 gestures you need to know
- Swipe your finger from the left edge of the pad to the center. This is how Windows returns to the last opened app.
- You can show the so-called Charmbar by swiping from the right edge into the middle.
- If you swipe your finger in the middle of the touchpad from above, the app commands will be displayed.
- You can zoom in and out on any item, such as an image or website. To do this, move two fingers towards or away from each other on the touchpad - just like on the touchscreen of a smartphone.
- The touchpad also easily replaces simple mouse functions: You can open an element by tapping the pad briefly. For files, just double tap.
- You can scroll up and down by moving your fingers up or down on the touchpad.
- If you move from right to left or vice versa with two fingers, you can turn pages in a document.
