Windows 8: How do I open the boot menu?
With Windows 8, the way to the boot menu has also changed. We'll show you how to open it now.
Open boot menu in Windows 8 - this is new
- Start your PC and log in to a user account (if this does not happen automatically).
- Move the mouse into the lower right corner so that the Charmbar appears.
- Click Settings> On / Off. Now hold down the "Shift" key and select the "Restart" option.
- The PC now shuts down and restarts in the boot menu. Click on the "Troubleshoot" item here to access the advanced functions.
- Alternatively, you can also switch to the boot menu using the "shutdown.exe / r / o" command in the command prompt.
