Windows: Activate hardware acceleration

Windows: Check the hardware acceleration of the graphics card
First, check if your graphics card is working properly. If you do, your hardware acceleration is enabled.
- Click on "Hardware and Sound" in the "Control Panel".
- There you select the "Device Manager" under "Devices and Printers".
- Select your graphics card in the overview and right-click on the model.
- Choose "Properties". If problems are displayed here, this is shown under "Device status". In such a case, you can install the graphics card drivers under the "Driver"> "Update driver" tab.
Windows: Open the configuration tool from the graphics card manufacturer
The various graphics card manufacturers also offer various configuration tools:
- To start such a tool, right-click on the desktop and select, for example, "Catalyst Control Center" for AMD Radeon graphics cards.
- Here you can activate the "Accelerated video conversion" under "Video".
- Depending on the configuration tool you are using, you can make further device settings for performance and quality here.
