Windows: Change key commands - Here's how
If you use some keys very often, but these are not convenient for you on the keyboard, you can change individual key commands. We present the free tool "SharpKeys" for you and show you how this works.
Change keyboard layout under Windows with SharpKeys
- You can download SharpKeys from CHIP for free.
- Open the installation file and always click on the "Next" button at the bottom right.
- When the installation is complete, you can start the program from your desktop.
- To change a keyboard layout, click on the "Add" button at the bottom left.
- Now select the button on the left that should have a new function. To do this, select it from the list or click the "Type Key" button, press the key on the keyboard and click "OK" (see image).
- Do the same now on the right side for the new command, which should be assigned to the key. Then click on the "OK" button below.
- Now you can change further key assignments until you are satisfied with the assignment. If this is the case, click on the "Write to Registry" button at the bottom right of the window. The changes are applied after a restart.
