The Witcher 3: On the trail - solution to the side quest
In this article we show you the complete solution for the side quest "On the track" in The Witcher 3. In the quest you should find and kill a monster that kills in the Outland. The quest will take you from Novigrad to Skellige, so be prepared for an exciting plot.
On the track - it all starts in Novigrad
To anticipate one thing, you should already have completed the "Destination: Skellige" quest so you can quickly travel to Skellige. Then follow the steps below.
- The quest is available on the notice board in Novigrad. After reading the note, you are ready to go.
- Go to the east of Novigrad and speak to the local guard. Ask him about the events. He will be able to give you some information.
- Then go to the said jetty and then examine the house with your witchcraft sense. You will notice that the tracks from the house continue along the bank until they end abruptly.
- Swim to the other bank at this point and you will find the traces again. Follow this. Once you have climbed the stairs, you have to kill the monster that appears.
- You will then get to know Lambert, who will ask for your help. Follow him to the said supervisor and watch the argument. Kill the three guards and then speak to Lambert.
- Then meet him in front of the tavern he proposed. After a lengthy dialogue that leads into the tavern, you can decide what to do with Vienne. Either way you have to travel to Skellige afterwards.
On the track - trip to Skellige and back
Now it's a quick trip to Skellige on the island of Harviken. Once you get there, proceed as follows.
- Ride eastwards from the sign towards Trottheim. When you get there you will be involved in a dispute with the guardian. You can now decide whether you want to kill the looters or come back later.
- No matter how you choose, you should continue to follow the path to the east. At the end Hammond and company await you and you have to kill him.
- Then you can take a quick trip back to Novigrad to the tavern. Talk to Lambert again for some explosive details about the story. In the end, you can decide the life and death of the magician Karadin. If you kill him, Lambert will help you with that. If not, Lambert will be pretty angry, but there are no further consequences.
- At this point, the quest is complete and you can devote yourself to other monsters.
