Word: Create your own style sheets - so it'll work

Style sheets can make working with Word easier. In this practical tip, we will show you how to create it.
How to create a new style in Word
- Start a blank document in Word.
- Click the arrow at the bottom right under "Styles".
- Then select "New Style" at the bottom right. The window that you can see in the picture opens.
- Give the style a name.
- Then choose the type of template. You can choose between paragraph, characters, linked, list and table.
- If the template is to be based on existing templates, you can select them.
- Now set the font and size. You can also choose the formatting of the text.
- Now select the formatting of the text. You can also set the line spacing.
- When you're done, click OK. You will then find your template under "Start" in the format templates and can use it from now on.
This practical tip is based on Word 2013 and can be carried out almost identically with the previous versions. We will tell you in our next practical tip how you can adjust the default settings in Word.
