What is a BlackBerry ID for?
Your BlackBerry ID is practically the key to your BlackBerry. It is practical and helps you, for example, if you want to transfer old data to your new device. You can find out what else the ID can do in this practical tip.
Blackberry ID - what does it bring you?
What is the Google account on Android and the Apple account on iOS is simply the ID of the same name on BlackBerry. It consists of a user name and a password and is independent of the device. You can use them for all kinds of things:
- BlackBerry Protect: If you have lost your cell phone, you can access it again with the ID. The prerequisite for this is that you have installed the BlackBerry Protect app. You can then either locate your phone, ring it or block it. If you are sure that your smartphone has fallen into the wrong hands, you can remotely delete all data from the phone.
- Print to Go: If you have a BlackBerry Playbook, for example, it is practical to send documents quickly and easily between your computer and tablet. This is where the BlackBerry ID and the print-to-go software come into play. After you have linked your PC and tablet via the BlackBerry ID, you can practically "print" on your tablet. You can now select Print-to-go as a printer in most programs and the document will appear on the tablet.
- BlackBerry World: If you buy a new BlackBerry product, you can easily transfer the apps from your old device to your new device with this app. All you have to do is log in to the app with your ID. The prerequisite is, of course, that you have already created the account on your old BlackBerry and saved the settings and apps there.
- BlackBerry Messenger: You also need a Blackberry ID for Blackberry Messenger (BBM). Existing data will then be synchronized with your device. The Blackberry Messenger is also available for Android and iOS.
