Zoom in Gimp - how it works
If you want to edit individual pixels of your picture in Gimp, you have to zoom in on the picture. We show how this works in this practical tip.
Gimp: Zoom in pictures
If you zoom, zoom in or out of the image in Gimp and can work more precisely. The image size always remains the same; if you want to make your photo bigger or smaller yourself, you have to scale it.
- To zoom, activate the magnifying glass icon in the tool box (see photo). Check the box below for "Zoom in" or "Zoom out" - depending on how you want to change the view. If you click in the picture, you will either zoom in or out a little.
- Alternatively, hold down the [Ctrl] key and move the mouse wheel while your mouse pointer is over the photo. In this way you can zoom in and out of your photo.
The next page shows how you can change individual colors in Gimp.
