The driver's license can contain coded additional information, which you can find on the back. These key figures provide information, for example, about what requirements the driver has to meet in order to drive a car.
Additional information on the driver's license - that is hidden behind the codes
Many of the codes that you can find on the back of the license in column 12 relate to the health restrictions of the license holder.
- The codes indicate the conditions under which the license holder may drive a car. But even if, for example, you got your driver's license when you were 17 and you have to be an accompanying person in the car, this is noted on the back of the driver's license. Incidentally, this is code 184.
- For example, you will very often find code 1.06 on the back of the driver's license. This code informs you that you are only allowed to drive a car with glasses or appropriate contact lenses.
- If you are stopped at the wheel of a car without this aid, you must face the consequences. If you are also involved in an accident, you will face significant insurance problems.
Driving license code for eye problems
All codes related to eyesight begin with 01:
- 01.01 glasses
- 01.02 contact lenses
- 01.03 safety glasses

The codes of group 05 partially restrict the validity of the driver's license. The driving restrictions exist for medical reasons.
