Dropbox: Upload entire folders - how it works
If you want to upload a folder to your Dropbox, there are several ways to do it. We will introduce you to the different variants and we will explain how it works.
Easily upload folders: Dropbox for Windows or Mac
Probably the simplest way to upload an entire folder to your Dropbox is via Dropbox's own program, which you can download for Windows, Mac or Linux.
- First install and set up the Dropbox program. To do this, use your usual access data.
- From now on, all files from your Dropbox will be synchronized with the computer. This not only has the advantage that you can have them offline at any time, but you can now also upload entire folders.
- To do this, simply drag the desired folder into your new Dropbox folder within the file explorer.
Dropbox Web: Create folders and upload content collectively
Since you unfortunately cannot select an entire folder and can upload it directly in the Dropbox web version, we have a second variant for you, which allows this in a roundabout way:
- To do this, first open the Dropbox website and log in.
- Now create a new folder at the desired location by clicking on the symbol next to the search in the top bar.
- After you have created and named the folder, open it. Now click on the upload icon at the top of the bar and select all files from the folder you want to upload.
- So you didn't upload the folder directly, but you still uploaded all files from that folder to a new Dropbox folder.
