Hamachi Error 1053: Unable to connect to Engine
If the Hamachi error 1053 "Engine connection could not be established", the tunneling service of the program could not start. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Hamachi Error 1053: Unable to connect to Engine
- Press the [Windows] and [R] keys simultaneously so that the "Execute" command opens.
- Enter "regedit" here and confirm with "OK". Then the "Registration Editor" opens.
- Navigate in the navigation bar on the left to the following path "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Wow6432Node".
- Open the "LogMeIn Hamachi" folder, you should see the "EngineConfigDir" file on the right. If not, you have found the cause of the problem.
- Then right-click in the right pane and select "String" under "New".
- Name the file "EngineConfigDir" and close the window. If the problem persists after a restart, follow the instructions in the next paragraph.
Hamachi error 1053: customize service
- Press the [Windows] and [R] keys simultaneously so that the "Execute" command opens.
- Enter "services.msc" there and confirm with "OK". Then open the "Services".
- Look for the "LogMeIn Hamachi Tunneling Engine" service here.
- Right click on the service and open the "Properties".
- Check under the "General" tab whether the service has even started. If possible, click the "Start" button.
- Activate the "This account" option under the "Register" tab and enter your user data.
- Close the window with "OK" and restart Hamachi.
Hamachi error 1053: further solutions
- If the problem persists, your anti-virus program may be blocking Hamachi. To do this, briefly switch off the protection. If the error no longer occurs, check the software settings.
- For the Hamachi service to work properly, it should always start with Windows. If the service is not in autostart, you should undo this setting.
- An outdated version of the Microsoft .NET Framework can also be the cause of the problem. The latest version can be downloaded here.
